A Moody Mountain Wedding at Old Edwards Inn: As Featured on The Knot!

We are beyond thrilled to share that one of our weddings has been featured by The Knot! This is a huge milestone for our company, and we couldn’t be prouder to see our work recognized on such a prestigious platform.

This stunning wedding took place at the iconic Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, North Carolina—a venue that perfectly complemented the couple’s vision for a moody, romantic mountain celebration. Every detail was carefully curated to create an unforgettable experience, from the deep, rich color palette to the soft candlelight that set the mood for the evening.

Aly and George’s love story is one for the books—literally! Having met in a college chemistry lab and later enduring six years of long-distance before finally settling in South Carolina together, they infused their wedding with personal details that reflected their journey. From incorporating their love of motorcycles to a unique book-inspired décor theme, their wedding was a true expression of their personalities.

Our design approach focused on blending timeless elegance with a modern edge. The couple wanted their wedding to feel like stepping into a lush, enchanted forest, and we worked closely with their vision to bring that dream to life. With a palette of black, dark greens, and creamy whites, accented with gold, we created a setting that felt both moody and romantic. Lush greenery, delicate white florals, and warm candlelight filled the ceremony space, while custom moss and fern signage added a deeply personal touch.

Aly’s stunning off-white gown featured intricate leaf embroidery, paired with a matching veil that elevated her woodland-inspired bridal look. George complemented the theme perfectly in a forest green three-piece suit with a gold tie, tying into the elegant and natural color scheme.

For the reception, the rustic elegance of The Farm at Old Edwards was enhanced with hanging foliage, dark romantic hues, and personalized details like fern-stamped place cards—mirroring one of Aly’s tattoos. Books in black and green covers lined the tables and aisle runners, doubling as favors for guests to take home, while keychains featuring a 10mm socket (an inside joke for motorcycle enthusiasts) were a nod to George’s passion for bikes.

The couple’s intentionality extended to every aspect of their day, from their first look—one of the most emotional moments—to the grand exit in a classic Model A Ford. Their Southern-inspired dinner featured a gourmet twist, with a late-night offering of fried chicken and waffles, complete with bourbon maple syrup for a delicious final touch.
